Grady is 11 Months Old!

Grady is 11 months old today! We can hardly believe he's almost one! This year has flown by and has been filled with the most wonderful memories! He is babbling all the time and his two new sounds are "uck" and "gaagaa" for everything. He can stand for a few seconds on his own, but doesn't like to. Three of his favorite things right now are playing (banging) on the piano, going to the pool and talking to the neighborhood dogs on our walks. We were having "grass time" outside and a lady walked by with two dogs and he was pointing and crying as they walked away because he was so sad to see them go. I am guessing his first question will be, "Can I have a dog?" Grass time is me trying to get him to be happy playing in the grass. He does not like sand at the beach, conrete, grass or much of anything weird to be touching him. We are working on that. He is such a happy boy and we are so thankful for him! I tried to spike his hair a little for a few pictures.

He loves to play the piano and is always crawling over to play on it every chance he gets! I hope he'll love to play as much as I do!

A visit with cousin James

We go over to Sarah and Jamie's house often, but I finally remembered to take my camera so I could get some pictures of Grady and James together. It was not easy because Grady wants to keep touching James and everyone knows a nearly 11 month old child doesn't know what "gentle" means! So, we had to put them on opposite ends of the chair for pictures and I had to hold Grady's arms down.
Uncle Richard and James Grady wanted to rub James' head while he sucked on his thumb.
I think James is keeping his eye on Grady!
Stare down!
Grady started getting excited because Nana was singing to him and James started getting in on the action too! So cute!

We tried to get a picture of Nana with her two grandsons. It didn't go so well.
Really didn't . . . (maybe next time)

The Beaver Strikes Again!

When Grady's bottom two teeth came in I posted pictures of how he demolished the inside of his crib rail with his teeth. Well, Grady's top four teeth all came in last week! That was a fun time. Two days ago I put him down for a nap and 15 minutes later I heard him talking to himself, then he started crying. I went in to check on him and he did the damage you see below in that short amount of time. Maybe he was crying because he couldn't find any more new spots to sink his new teeth into! We have got to find a teething rail that will fit! A view of the top and inside teeth marks.

Charleston and Father's Day

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend in Charleston! It was so much fun to be with my family and I always love getting to see my nieces and nephew. Anna is saying Grady's name now and it's too cute. (Troy was sick, so he and Bonnie weren't able to come. We missed you.) I also want to say a few things about Richard as it was Father's Day . . . Grady is blessed to have Richard as a father. Richard not only loves him to pieces, but he let's Grady know it all the time! He misses him when he's at work, plays with him constantly, teaches him many things and takes Grady out for Dad/son nights very often! They always have a blast together. Grady's first word was "Dada" and it's so fun to hear him say that when Richard walks in the door. He also calls out "dada" whenever we walk up the stairs in the house on the days Richard works from home. Grady knows Richard is in the study and starts calling for him and reaching out for him before we even get to him. He loves his Dad and is so blessed to have such a fun, loving, patient and christian father. We love you Richard!
I also want to say how much I love my Daddy! He is so wonderful, fun, loving, and hilarious! I have always adored him and still get excited everytime I see him. I love you so much Daddy and wish I had a picture of you from the weekend, but you were taking pictures of us!

This is a picture of the first time we took Grady to the beach for pictures when he was 2 months old. We only went for pictures that day. This was his second trip to the beach and he was 10 1/2 months old.
Yes he is grimacing. He did not like the beach very much. He hated the sand and would scream when we put him down. He was only happy when we were out in the deep water and I guess that felt more like the pool to him. He also hates to be in the grass, on concrete and etc. We have to work that! We did have a fun day and will try the beach again soon!
Grady and Dad. He was nervous the whole time that we would put him down.
He did like pointing to the pelicans and seagulls when they flew by.
See what I mean? He hated it and didn't even want a single toe in the sand. So funny.

Mama and Grady
There's that happy face. He loved splashing and drinking the salt water.

Anna, isn't she adorable! She saw a dog walk by and she ran after it. Beth kept calling her to come back and Anna would turn around and say, "Come on Mama" as if I'm not coming back, but you can come with me.
Kate looking beautiful.
Here are lots of adorable pictures of Anna.

Some cute pictures of Asher.

After the beach we went by the pool in my parents' neighborhood.

After naps the kids were happy and had a blast. I LOVED this picture of Anna. It completely shows her personality! Gotta love the hand on the hip!
Grady kept chasing Anna to get her toys. He had her backed into a corner!
Anna was up on this chair trying to get away from Grady again.
On Sunday we went by Zack and Katy's house to see them, Addie and Harper. We grilled hotdogs for lunch and I had an awesome time playing with Addie and holding Harper! This was so cute of Addie! She passed out all her instruments and had us all playing in her band.
