Every week Grady and I get together with Kristen, Jake, Lisa and Lauren. Kristen and Lisa taught with me last year and we are all home with our babies this year! We have been meeting up at a mall or shopping center once a week to hang out and get some early Christmas shopping done.
Grady, Lauren and Jake
Grady had his 2 month old shots and he did great until later that night. His fever came on fast and was 102.6! I was so worried because I know he can't take tylenol yet (I am so deathly allergic his doctor doesn't want him to try it yet) and they won't give motrin until babies are 6 months old! SO, we had a LONG night and next two days of trying to get his fever down like they must have done in the old days. He got tepid baths that froze him so much his lips turned blue. We even had a fan blowing on him during the bath. He couldn't have any clothes on and when he wasn't in a bath we had to keep cold rags on him. Poor guy was miserable and it broke our hearts to feel like we were torturing him, but it did keep the fever down. Richard had to give most of those baths because I would just cry with Grady through the whole thing. Richard holding Grady after one of his baths. It was so hard to fight the urge to snuggle him close and warm him up!
After awhile he gave in and accepted the coldness. He would actually sleep with cold rags on his back.
I guess he was trying to stay warm by tucking his hands in.
