3 Months Old

Grady turned 3 months old almost a month ago. I have just been lazy with updating the blog! Here are a few pics we took of him when he turned 3 months old. These are the cute overalls Aunt Irene gave him. They were SO huge on him the week he was born and now they are like shorts on him. It's amazing how much he changes and grows every day.

Halloween

We celebrated Halloween for a week! We went to the pumpkin patch, saw a Halloween parade, carved pumpkins with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jamie and passed out candy on Halloween night.
Mama and Grady at the pumpkin patch.

Grady thinks it's silly how many pumpkins are just lying around.
Grady just chillin' with the decorations.
Uncle Jamie's scary pumpkin!
Mama's pumpkin on the left and Aunt Sarah's on the right.
Dad's idea for his carving was to make arm and leg holes and put Grady inside. He hated the idea if you can't tell. Grady's thoughts, "Seriously Dad, it's slimy, cold and I don't fit!"
Mama and Grady at the Halloween parade at Uncle Jamie and Aunt Sarah's house. Grady was dressed up as a deer hunter!
The fire truck was cool, but loud!
Grady enjoying his bumbo seat on Hallween night.
Uncle Jamie was dressed as "Justin Bobby." He's so cool! Aunt Sarah was dressed as a vampire, but her picture was too scary to post!
Grady's Halloween outfit. Our big plump pumpkin!
Dad's candy bowl and Grady's candy . . . the bottle! I guess if I was a really sweet mom I would have dipped the bottle in sugar water.
My other Halloween outfit. Grady had just arrived at Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jamie's house. It was his first trick or treating experience!

A Disappointing Clemson Game

Although the Clemson game was disappointing we still had a great time tailgating with our family and friends! Grady is such a trooper and slept through most of the game. He was awake the last quarter and gave us some good smiles!

When we got home Sunday we decided to buy a firepit! It was a chilly night and the fire smelled and felt so good! We look forward to enjoying it all fall and winter!

Baby Dedication

Grady had his baby dedication on October 12th. We had a fun weekend with lots of family here! My mom, sister Beth and her three kids came over Saturday to spend the night. We took the kids to the Sports Connection to play and then went to McDonald's. Kate and Asher had a blast playing on the indoor playground for hours! On Sunday Richard's family came over for lunch and we grilled hotdogs before going to the baby dedication. We got there and were so impressed! The church had caterers, beautiful cakes, table decorations (Grady had his own table), flowers and even M & Ms with the date on it. The service was so sweet and it was wonderful to have family there to celebrate with us on that special day!

We went over to Jamie and Sarah's after the dedication. Grady was exhausted! Uncle Gene rolled up Grady's sleeves and opened his collar! He looked like an old man resting on a Sunday afternoon. Here he is with his eyes barely open he was so tired!

Play Group and 2 Month Old Shots

Every week Grady and I get together with Kristen, Jake, Lisa and Lauren. Kristen and Lisa taught with me last year and we are all home with our babies this year! We have been meeting up at a mall or shopping center once a week to hang out and get some early Christmas shopping done.

Grady had his 2 month old shots and he did great until later that night. His fever came on fast and was 102.6! I was so worried because I know he can't take tylenol yet (I am so deathly allergic his doctor doesn't want him to try it yet) and they won't give motrin until babies are 6 months old! SO, we had a LONG night and next two days of trying to get his fever down like they must have done in the old days. He got tepid baths that froze him so much his lips turned blue. We even had a fan blowing on him during the bath. He couldn't have any clothes on and when he wasn't in a bath we had to keep cold rags on him. Poor guy was miserable and it broke our hearts to feel like we were torturing him, but it did keep the fever down. Richard had to give most of those baths because I would just cry with Grady through the whole thing.

Richard holding Grady after one of his baths. It was so hard to fight the urge to snuggle him close and warm him up!

After awhile he gave in and accepted the coldness. He would actually sleep with cold rags on his back.
I guess he was trying to stay warm by tucking his hands in.
