A Fun and Eventful Weekend in Charleston

Two weeks ago I went down to Charleston to stay with my parents while Richard traveled for work. Grady and I had a great time as usual, but on Friday just before Richard flew into Charleston my Mom and I had to rush Grady to the ER. Grady had what I thought were three seizures in a row. My pediatrician said to take him to the ER. Thankfully my Dad works at MUSC and he had a nurse waiting in the parking lot for us when we arrived! On the drive there I had to tell Richard over the phone what was happening. He was getting ready to bored his plane to Charleston, so it was a rough flight to say the least. After a thorough check-up, IV and bloodwork the doctors there said they think it wasn't a seizure but a bad reaction/choking episode to reflux. We still don't know for sure, but it hasn't happened again. Once we knew he would be okay Richard's flight landed and my Dad brought him to the hospital to see Grady. We felt like we had the "royal treatment" there as we were in and out in about two hours and saw many top doctors while we were there. It's nice to have your father working and well known around the hospital when you are a patient! After all the drama we went back to my parents and managed to make a quick drop-in at Shaun's 30th birthday bash. Then Saturday morning my parents went with us to the beach to get lots of great family photos. My Dad has an awesome new camera and he got lots of great pictures! Below are the pics from the hospital and the beach pictures. We also took a few at the boat landing in my parents' neighborhood.

I was so stressed, but relieved he was okay.

Richard was SO happy to see Grady!

Crying again. He was getting the IV out this time.

Grady has had enough of picture time!

First time, of many I'm sure, climbing on construction equipment.

2 Months Old

Grady turned 2 months old September 30th! He is growing so fast and is giving us lots of cute smiles all the time! We are still waiting for that first belly laugh and can tell it's coming soon! He started sleeping 8 to 9 hours each night around 7 weeks old and has been a great sleeper ever since. We are blessed with a baby that loves his sleep and if we interrupt it he will whine until we let him get back to his sleep. It's been crazy the last two weeks and I've gotten behind on the blog because of it. You will see many more posts up today updating you on the last few weeks and everything Grady has experienced . . . good and bad. He is such a sweet baby boy. We can already see that he is very easy going and rolls with the punches life has already thrown at him! We are so thankful to have such a happy baby! Here are a few pictures I took of him when he turned 2 months.

Grady's First Day at Church

We went to church for the first time since Grady was born. We thought he would just sleep the whole time since he has slept through two Clemson football games. Well, we were completely wrong! He was great during the music, but during the sermon he started grunting and releasing so we ended up in the lobby area for half of the service. Then we went to see the 11th graders that we taught in Sunday School last year and our friends from our Adult Sunday School class. I had to leave class and find an empty room to feed him. After that I got to sit and listen to the last half of the lesson. We were happy to be there and see everyone, but it was hard to take our focus off of Grady. He was wide awake the whole time and fell asleep the last ten minutes we were there. He'll definetly be in the nursery next time with his bottle!
