Grady's First Snow Day!

We didn't believe the weathermen as usual, but they were right this time! We got 3 inches of snow! It continued to snow until noon and was beautiful. It was just enough to have fun and get great pics, but not enough to make the roads dangerous. Grady seemed to love it and was just looking all around and sticking his tonuge out as the snowflakes kept landing on his mouth. This is the first real snow we've had since we moved in our house 4 1/2 years ago.

Christmas in Spartanburg . . . Part Three!

Part three includes Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with the Nettles' family! Richard woke up sick on Christmas Eve, but was ready for some cinnamon toast and ginger ale by the end of the night. Papa read the Christmas story, a Nettles Christmas Eve tradition and we all shared what we were most thankful for this year! Grady, Sarah and Jamie's baby on the way, Gene and Rosanne's success with Geneaology and Irene's straight A's in school were the major things mentioned! We got our Christmas pjs and took a family photo. Then Christmas morning was filled with running down the steps, a huge and delicious breakfast, opening of MANY gifts and then one very special gift at the end.....Sarah got a new minivan from Jamie! Then we packed up the car and drove down to Mt. Pleasant to be with my family for a few days.
The three Donnington Nettles! haha!
Daddy Gene/Papa reading the Christmas story.
Gene making his silly faces as usual. At least there were no fights this year!
Grady playing with Aunt Irene!

Waiting to see what Santa brought!
Grady got a wagon from Nana and Papa!
Molly wanted to check it out.
Grady needed a snack during the present opening madness!

Papa pulling Grady for a ride in the wagon.
Grady liked it so much he decided to take a nap in the wagon! He was also trying to block the sun as he sucked his thumb!

Christmas in Spartanburg . . . Part Two!

Part Two includes a visit to my my Dad's parents' house (Grandmother and Poppy) and a visit to my Mama's parents' house (Bebop and Nana) and all 100 other cousins, aunts, uncles and etc. We are thankful that so much of our extended family lives in Spartanburg. It makes the traveling much easier!
Grady imitating his Ditdough!
Grady with another Greatgrandmother!
Grady with Poppy, Greatgrandfather!
My Mama, Meme, with all 5 grandchildren! This was how well our attempt went to get them all in one picture! Not so successful!
This one turned out good though. Meme with Kate, Anna and Grady.
We tried the floor and it worked better. Not everyone is looking, but no one is fighting and they are all in the picture!
My Daddy and his mother! Poppy and Grandmother. Grandmother loved her new blanket and decided to pretend to be Mary!
We are now at the Neely's! Bebop and Nana's house! Troy, Anna and Asher playing with the nativity.
At least Beth was looking at the camera! There were 84 people there, over 20 couldn't make it. No wonder it was too distracting and crazy to get many good pictures! That many people in one room is very warm! It was fun though!
Kate smiling and looking beautiful as usual!
Grady stayed on Uncle Ty's lap the whole time. It was just too much for him so he slept through it all.
Loving his thumb as usual!
Upset that I woke him to get a picture with his greatgrandparents (Bebop and Nana) before we left. Bebop did give the greatgrands a wonderful gift....he hand made wooden building blocks for them!

Christmas in Spartanburg . . . Part One!

We were in Spartanburg for quite a few days . . . the 20th -25th! We had such a busy and fun time I had to break it up into three posts! Part one is our arrival, visit to First Baptist Church, a visit to see Grandma Betty and the Nettles extended family Christmas party/Lubba's 90th Birthday party!
Grady LOVES Irene and throughout our stay he loved staring at her and copying all her facial expressions! Here you can see how smitten he is with her!
Grady trying on Mason's hat!
Grady in big church with Dad! He thought it was so boring and wondered why we didn't put him in nursery so he could play!
He decided to just sleep until......
Uncle Gene arrived and he was SO excited because he loves to laugh at Uncle Gene and his silly hair! haha!
More giggles with Uncle Gene....church had not started yet. Once it did I had to take Grady out to settle him and get him to stop talking. =) Thankfully he fell asleep!
Grady with his Greatgrandmother Betty!
Grady with Lubba . . . a great-great aunt??? We celebrated her 90th Birthday!
Grady getting a bottle from Aunt Sherry! He always covers his eyes when he eats now as if to block out the light and everyone around him. I guess he wants a peaceful meal!
Happy 90th Lubba!
The annual gingerbread house making contest with the Nettles and Sharpe girls!

Santa comes to visit Grady!

Santa came to visit Grady a few days early since we would be in Spartanburg and Charleston Christmas day. We started with the Christmas story, then sat on the steps and went into the living room to see what Santa brought (he even left a letter)! It was a FUN first Christmas with Grady!
Waiting for the "go" from Dad!
Grady's new chair!
Watching the lights on the muscial toy.
Loving his new high chair!
Wondering how to open the food and probably why he hasn't gotten any yet...soon he will!
You would think he just ate the way he was licking his fingers!
